About Combined Maritime Forces
Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) is a 47-nation naval partnership dedicated to promoting security, stability and prosperity across approximately 3.2 million square miles of international waters. Its area of responsibility includes some of the world’s most important shipping lanes. Through multinational cooperation, CMF coordinates maritime security operations, responds to threats and supports regional engagement with maritime law enforcement partners.
The partnership organizes its work through several Combined Task Forces. These include CTF 150, focused on maritime security; CTF 151, which counters piracy; CTF 152, dedicated to Gulf maritime security; and CTF 153, responsible for Red Sea maritime security. CMF also operates CTF 154, which supports maritime security training, and provides a Joint Maritime Information Center.
CMF’s activities include operational responses to piracy incidents, multinational exercises and training initiatives. It works with partner nations and regional organizations to strengthen maritime law enforcement and improve coordination at sea. The organization shares news, imagery and information about its missions, task forces, member nations and partner engagement through its official website and social media channels.
