Comédie des Ondes is a French performing arts company dedicated to making science accessible through live performance. Since 2011, it has created original shows exploring scientific subjects alongside social issues, with an emphasis on human experience and social impact. The company’s work is intended for broad audiences and combines theatre with scientific mediation.
Its productions address themes including women’s place in science, medicine and health, and the effects of gender stereotypes. Works featured on its site include NOBELLES, a performance honoring women overlooked for the Nobel Prize, and Elle est mathophile ! The company also develops shorter, tailor-made interludes and runs creative and educational workshops. These activities can involve writing and performance, including projects created with students.
Comédie des Ondes brings together writers, performers, directors, scientific mediators, and sound and lighting professionals. It reports having delivered more than 640 performances across 52 French departments to over 50,000 audience members. Alongside its shows and workshops, the company shares thematic resources and information about upcoming events and projects, including SANTÉE, a developing production about women in health and medicine.
