The Consiglio Nazionale dei Dottori Commercialisti e degli Esperti Contabili (CNDCEC) is a pivotal public entity in Italy, operating under the oversight of the Ministry of Justice since its establishment in 2005. It serves as the institutional representative for the accounting profession, ensuring the interests of its registered members and the public are protected. The CNDCEC comprises 21 members, selected from among qualified professionals, and plays a crucial role in overseeing the accounting field at both national and international levels.

The organization provides a range of services, including advisory on legislation affecting the profession, updating the Professional Code of Conduct, and disciplinary oversight across 132 local professional bodies. It also manages the national professional roster, ensures compliance with professional regulations, and conducts assessments for continuing professional development programs. Additionally, CNDCEC actively participates in the global standard-setting processes related to accounting and auditing.
