Common is a Melbourne-based clothing recirculation organisation working to keep quality garments in use and improve access to clothing in communities. Since 2019, it has helped recirculate more than 68,000 garments through social service organisations, community groups and resale channels. Common partners with brands and retailers to redistribute excess inventory, samples and returns, directing suitable garments to community distribution or resale.

Individuals can also use its $47 wardrobe clear-out kit to send wearable clothing for assessment and recirculation. Common inspects and manages incoming garments, carries out repairs where needed, and prepares resale items by photographing, pricing, listing and storing them. Clothing is either distributed through social service partners or sold, with proceeds supporting the organisation’s mission.

Items that do not meet its donation guidelines are returned to the sender. Based in Melbourne, Common accepts and redistributes clothing across Australia wherever courier services are available. The organisation is also developing a workplace collection programme and shares updates on its circular model, community care and efforts to address fashion industry excess through its impact report and journal
