Common Places Church is a brand located in Lock Haven, PA. They are a multiplying, Spirit empowered family on a mission with Jesus for the Gospel. Their mission is to make disciples who Trust Jesus, Be Transformed, and Start Churches.

They believe in launching new, nimble churches in common places. At Common Place Church, they belong to Jesus and share life with His family. Within Jesus' family, they strive to mature emotionally and spiritually, and love and serve each other.

They do church differently by starting simple, smaller gatherings that reach new neighborhoods. Their pastors are co-vocational, allowing them to connect with their people by living life like them. They have a variety of preachers who provide fresh perspectives to their understanding of following Jesus.

Common Place Church starts their churches in unique locations such as coffee shops and community rooms to create access and remove barriers for people to attend. They also have missional families, smaller communities of individuals, who meet together in addition to gathering at the church. These missional families organize themselves around their mission to a neighborhood or group of people while living out Common Places values together in the rhythms of life.

The churches and missional families work together in a hub, sharing resources and caring for their communities. Common Places Church has a rich history that dates back to 1938. Originally known as the Fairview Community Alliance Church, it has undergone various transformations over the years.

In 2009, it was reborn as The Common Place Church and Avenue 209 Coffee House. While the coffee shop grew, the church realized that starting more small churches aligned with their vision instead of building a larger one. In 2021, Common Place Church planted another congregation, marking the continued pursuit of their mission.
