Commonwealth Air Training

Commonwealth Air Training Ltd. is an Ottawa, Ontario-based aviation company serving the local community and surrounding region. Operating for more than twenty years, the company takes its name from the Commonwealth Air Training Plan, recognizing the crews associated with that historic program. Its services include flight training, ferry pilot and safety pilot services, and pilot examiner services.

The company also offers commercial pilot ground school. Its advertised winter course begins January 18, 2027, and runs for seven weeks, with classes on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Ottawa Flying Club. Students are asked to bring the Sharper Edge Commercial Pilot Exam Preparation Guide, a Toronto VNC, a Douglas protractor, a plotter, a flight computer, and “Game Rules.” Tuition is $400 plus HST; required materials are additional.

Commonwealth Air Training provides aviation instruction and operational support for pilots. Its ground school offers commercial pilot candidates a structured opportunity to prepare for their examination.
