Communicatiekunst

Communicatiekunst is a speech and language therapy practice in Sint Pancras and Alkmaar, and is part of Praktijk voor Kind en Jeugd Alkmaar. Led by speech therapist Bea Kunst-Verberne, the practice supports children from birth to 18 years with communication, speech and language development needs. Its clients include children who speak little or not at all, children with developmental or intellectual disabilities, children with autism or suspected autism, and young children who have difficulty pronouncing sounds.

Services include assessment and treatment for language development disorders and articulation difficulties, as well as tailored guidance to build communication skills. Where appropriate, the practice uses supported communication and works closely with parents and other people involved in a child’s care. Its approach draws on Hanen programme principles and Floortime, with collaboration with a paediatric physiotherapist for Floortime work. Home visits may be available when indicated by a referrer. The practice emphasizes early support, individualized strategies and partnership with families to help children communicate more effectively.
