About Communities for Change
Communities for Change (CFC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating positive transformation in the Lower Eastern Part of Kenya. Founded in 2019, CFC aims to address challenges such as poor leadership, mismanagement of public resources, and extreme poverty that have hindered development in the region.
CFC focuses on various important areas, including Democracy, Governance, and Human Rights (DGHR), Gender and Women Empowerment, Education and Advocacy, Youth and Entrepreneurship, and Climate Change and Environmental Conservation.
In terms of DGHR, CFC believes that development is achievable through responsible leadership and civic engagement. They work closely with political figures, electoral bodies, and community members to promote accountability and transparency.
Gender equality and women empowerment are highly valued by CFC. They collaborate with local communities, civil society organizations, and government bodies to ensure that the rights of every gender are upheld and discriminatory practices are confronted.
CFC recognizes the power of education and advocates for every child's right to access quality education. They partner with community leaders, education authorities, and enforcement agencies to facilitate educational opportunities.
The organization also places great importance on engaging with the youth as agents of change. Recognizing their potential, CFC provides training and support to empower them in their respective fields, connecting them to financial institutions for business establishment.
Furthermore, CFC actively works towards climate change mitigation and environmental conservation. They promote tree planting, rainwater harvesting, and alternative fuel sources to combat climate change and improve the rural communities they serve.
Led by an experienced board, including Harrison Musyoki as the Chair, CFC's commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment drives their efforts to bring about positive change and create a better future for the people in the region.
