Community Counseling Services provides Wisconsin’s Intoxicated Driver Program services for residents of Chippewa, Barron, Rusk, Washburn, Price, Jackson, Buffalo, and Trempealeau counties. The organization helps people with an OWI or implied consent refusal complete the assessment and driver safety plan required under Wisconsin law to obtain or maintain a driver’s license.
The assessment is conducted by a state-trained IDP assessor and typically takes 45 minutes to an hour. In some cases, an additional appointment or permission to contact another person may be needed. Information is kept confidential. Based on the assessment, Community Counseling Services develops a driver safety plan intended to reduce the risk of another OWI and monitors participants’ compliance, submitting completion or noncompliance reports as appropriate.
The assessment fee is $285. Additional charges may apply for rescheduling, amending an assessment, or extending a plan; failure to comply can also affect driving privileges and lead to reinstatement costs. The agency is located in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and can be contacted by phone or email for information and appointments.
