Community Access

Community Access is a New York-based organization that expands opportunities in housing, health, and human rights for people living with mental health concerns. Its work supports recovery from trauma and discrimination through affordable housing, training, advocacy, and healing-focused services. The organization develops and operates affordable and supportive housing, including studio and one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, and provides residential crisis support and intensive residential crisis support. Its programs also include supported education, peer training through HTH, community health and supports, and health and wellness services.

Community Access combines direct services with advocacy and community engagement. It promotes racial equity, shares information on mental health policy, and creates opportunities for artistic expression and connection through initiatives such as the Changing Minds Young Filmmaker Festival, C Magazine, and public events. Its real estate development work includes housing projects in the Bronx, such as Baez Place and the development at 521 East Tremont Avenue.
