Community Change Action is a national organization that focuses on building power and capacity among low-income people, particularly people of color, to effect positive change in policies and institutions that impact their lives. They believe that social movements need to be led by those most affected by injustice, and they view voting as a crucial tool for change. Their mission is centered on empowering low-income people of color, immigrants, and women to reshape democracy and the economy to be just, equitable, and inclusive.

Community Change Action operates with principles of freedom, radical inclusion, equity-driven policy, innovative government, and true democracy. They work in conjunction with their sister organization, Community Change, to bring about social change through grassroots leadership and advocacy. Throughout their history, they have successfully fought for anti-poverty victories, such as increased funding for child care, administrative relief for immigrants, and policy changes benefiting communities of color.

Community Change Action partners with community-based organizations across the country to build power at the local, state, and national levels, with a focus on solidarity and collaboration across race, gender, and immigration status.
