About Community Foundation North East
The Community Foundation is a trusted and effective charitable foundation that aims to match generous individuals with important community causes in the North East of England. Our vision is to see thriving communities across the region, where fairness and generosity change lives and create a sense of belonging for everyone. As the largest Community Foundation in the UK, we have been making a difference since 1988.
Our mission is to grow giving and philanthropy by enabling people from all walks of life to establish charitable funds, give collectively, and share their expertise. We support small, local charities and community organizations through grants from our funds and provide help through our extensive networks. Additionally, we address vital issues affecting our area by collaborating with others to find solutions.
Our ultimate goal is to build our endowment as a lasting asset for our communities. Governed by a board of trustees from various sectors, we are a registered charity and limited company. Our team of experts operates from our office at Philanthropy House in Newcastle upon Tyne.
