About The Center for Community Health Alignment
The Center for Community Health Alignment (CCHA), housed at the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health, is dedicated to addressing health inequities in South Carolina. With a strong understanding of health equity and the impact of social determinants on health, CCHA utilizes evidence-based models and meaningful community engagement strategies to co-create solutions with community leaders. CCHA brings together two major initiatives, the Community Health Worker Institute (CHWI) and Equity through Meaningful Community Engagement (EMCE).
The CHWI ensures that well-trained and supported Community Health Workers (CHWs) are available in communities, promoting greater access to health for all South Carolinians. EMCE takes a community-centered approach to diversity and equity, fostering solutions created by the community, for the community. As a supporter of organizations and communities seeking improved health and increased equity, CCHA believes that lasting health solutions arise from the alignment of services and resources.
