CompaniesUp is an online directory that helps people discover local companies and contractors across a wide range of industries. Visitors can search categories such as home improvement, professional services, healthcare, automotive, hospitality, education, and personal care, then use customer reviews and recommendations to compare providers and find a suitable match.

The platform offers a free quote-request service: users submit their location and details of the work they need, and CompaniesUp connects them with recommended local businesses. Its site says customers can receive quotes from up to three companies, review feedback from previous clients, and compare prices before deciding, with no obligation to hire. CompaniesUp also seeks to make reviews trustworthy by checking that reviewers have verified contact details and inviting users to report concerns.

For businesses, the directory provides paid advertising and permanent listings that can generate exclusive or semi-exclusive leads, along with links to company websites and service pages. Companies can add their business to the platform, while consumers can browse providers, request estimates, and manage an account.
