COMPOSTARS

Compostars is a technology platform designed to grow and strengthen local composting programs. Built with and for local composters, it connects community composters, municipalities, businesses, and individuals to make composting easier to manage, participate in, and measure. Its software supports collection tracking and reporting, organizational operations, and user-facing experiences. Real-time guidance helps participants understand what, where, and how to compost, supporting education and efforts to reduce contamination.

The platform also offers marketing tools and gamified experiences to encourage participation, reward composting habits, and help programs attract members and funders. Impact metrics track individual contributions, while analytics give compost operators actionable insights. For municipalities, Compostars provides tools for launching or optimizing organic recycling programs; businesses can use it to engage teams and support environmental commitments. Individuals can learn composting basics, reach milestones, and earn rewards. Compostars also offers growth strategy services to help organizations develop their programs. The company reports that its platform has tracked more than 94,000 composting actions and helped divert over 855,000 pounds of food from landfills.
