About The COMPTEXT Association
COMPTEXT is an international community of quantitative text-as-data scholars that focuses on the intersection of social sciences, particularly political science and international relations, and information technology. They use computational methods to analyze textual sources and employ a comparative approach to problem-solving, including multi-lingual comparative analysis.
The COMPTEXT project organizes annual conferences that adhere to principles of interdisciplinarity, equality, and global outlook. They encourage participation from advanced M.A. and Ph.D. students and provide equal opportunities regardless of ethnicity, gender, or religion. The conferences feature dedicated Tutorial Days where interactive courses are offered on various thematic and methodological approaches related to the project's core mission.
The project aims to create a global community of quantitative text analysis scholars and supports regional thematic workshops worldwide. COMPTEXT also emphasizes diversity by promoting the development of text analysis methods in languages other than English.
