Computel, a brand established since 1985, has evolved from its origins as a Minitel micro-server to embrace modern cloud technology. Specializing in ethical data storage, Computel offers secure backups and archives without relying on major tech giants. Their approach includes in-house hosting, with the data center located in a basement, emphasizing sustainability through second-hand hardware and green energy practices.

Committed to open-source software like debian/Proxmox and ZFS, Computel aims to be a part of the "chaton" movement, promoting autonomy, transparency, openness, neutrality, and solidarity. Led by Christian Quest, Computel continues its legacy of innovation, blending elements of development, system administration, and data management. With a pixelated logo unchanged since its inception, Computel maintains a nostalgic charm while embracing cutting-edge technologies for reliable and eco-conscious storage solutions.
