About Concussion & CTE Foundation
The Concussion Legacy Foundation (CLF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting athletes, veterans, and all individuals affected by concussions and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). Founded in 2007 by Robert Cantu, MD, and Chris Nowinski, PhD, CLF aims to promote safer sports and smarter athletes through education and innovation, while also working towards the prevention and research of CTE. CLF offers a wide range of services and programs to fulfill its mission.
Their education and advocacy programs, such as Team Up Speak Up, train coaches and youth athletes on recognizing and responding to concussions. The CLF Media Project educates sports media professionals on accurate concussion reporting. Additionally, CLF collaborates with leading brain banks worldwide to study CTE and supports concussion and CTE research globally.
Through patient and family services programs like the CLF HelpLine, CLF provides guidance, resources, and care for those affected by concussions and suspected CTE symptoms. The organization also advises various sports organizations, including the NFL and World Rugby, to drive change and promote safety from the top-down. With a vision of a world without CTE and concussion safety without compromise, the Concussion Legacy Foundation continues to tirelessly work towards making sports safer and developing effective treatments for concussions and CTE
