CONFIRE is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) based in San Bernardino County, California. As a JPA, CONFIRE offers a range of essential services including communications, dispatch, computer information systems support (IS), and geographic information systems (GIS) to its members and contract agencies. At the heart of CONFIRE is the Communications Center (Comm Center), which operates 24/7 to provide fire, EMS, and rescue dispatch services to CONFIRE’s member and contract agencies.

The Comm Center also serves as the Operational Area dispatch for San Bernardino County, coordinating large-scale incidents across fire, local government, and emergency medical resources throughout the County. Moreover, it offers after-hours dispatch services for local government departments and the City of Loma Linda. CONFIRE represents numerous member agencies and contract agencies, totaling over 100 fire stations and serving a majority of the residents and businesses in the County of San Bernardino.

In 2020 alone, the Comm Center dispatched over 225,000 incidents. The Administrative Committee, comprising the Fire Chiefs or designated alternates from each member agency, oversees CONFIRE's operations, budget, and financial transactions. The Board of Directors is responsible for adopting the CONFIRE budget, establishing assessments and fiscal policies, and providing overall policy direction.
