Conservation Montgomery is a county-focused organization dedicated to protecting natural resources and connecting residents with nature. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, it works to raise awareness of environmental issues and support local stewardship. Its activities include tree care classes, Big Tree Tours, volunteer opportunities, events, and public forums focused on natural resource issues. The organization also shares event information, action alerts, and news through its newsletter.

Conservation Montgomery has helped advance local tree protection and planting efforts. It led the Trees Matter coalition, which contributed to the passage of two Montgomery County tree laws in 2013, and the resulting urban canopy legislation supported the Tree Montgomery planting program. The organization has also worked with environmental and watershed groups to establish bimonthly Parks Stewardship sessions with Parks Department natural resource staff. In addition, it has held Green Forums during county election cycles, giving residents opportunities to hear candidates discuss environmental concerns.
