Festival du Conte de Baden – Passeurs d’histoires is an association dedicated to celebrating and developing the art of oral storytelling. Founded in Baden, Brittany, its festival began in 1997 and brings together professional, experienced, emerging and amateur storytellers. Its programme balances Breton traditions with stories from other regions of France and cultures around the world, presenting artists for the strength of their words rather than elaborate theatrical effects.
The association’s main event is its summer festival, alongside a winter festival and storytelling gatherings throughout the year. Activities have included performances for adults and children, storytelling walks, boat trips, night-time and sunrise walks, open stages, workshops and opportunities for young people to explore storytelling and creative arts. Events are held in Baden and nearby communities, with a welcoming atmosphere that encourages connections among artists, volunteers and audiences.
Members can access reduced prices, advance information and activities throughout the year. Membership is available individually or for families, online or by post.
