CC Mosquito & Vector

The Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District is a dedicated organization focused on controlling mosquito populations and providing public health information regarding mosquito-borne diseases, particularly West Nile virus. Their services encompass a range of community-focused initiatives, including the reporting and monitoring of mosquito activity, dead bird surveillance, and educational outreach to help residents understand how to protect themselves from mosquito bites.

The district actively employs integrated vector management strategies to minimize the risk of disease transmission, including innovative mosquito reduction techniques tailored to the local environment. They also provide resources and guidelines for residents on best practices, such as identifying and reporting unmaintained pools, which can be breeding grounds for mosquitoes. With a commitment to transparency and community engagement, the Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District ensures the public remains informed and involved in efforts to uphold public health and safety against vector-related threats.
