Contindex is an independent online directory designed to help homeowners find and verify licensed contractors across the United States. It offers searchable information on more than 150,000 businesses in fields including painting, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, and other construction services. Visitors can search by city, state, category, or business name, and browse contractor listings organized by location.

The directory says its records are aggregated from official state licensing boards and may include business contact details, addresses, and license information. Contindex provides free access without sign-ups, paid rankings, or lead-generation forms, allowing users to contact professionals directly. In addition to its directory, the site offers practical project-planning tools, including calculators for roofing, flooring, concrete, drywall and paint, fencing and decks, and construction costs, as well as a remodeling return-on-investment estimator and project timeline estimator.

The company notes that its information is based on public records, is not a substitute for confirmation with local authorities, and is not guaranteed to be accurate
