Convivium Imports LLC was founded in 2020 after founder Dan Hess spent years heading the Los Angeles sales division for one the largest wine, beer and spirits import/wholesale companies in California. With numerous relationships in one of the most competitive and exciting beverage markets in the world, his passion has led him in a new direction: to fill your glass with the stories of small producers. When Ancient Romans gathered, regardless of gender or class, it was called a convivium. Food and wine was served. Lively discussions were held. Ideas were shared. Convivium Imports is a brand that offers a unique selection of wines from the ArdΓ©che region of France. Led by the passionate team of Benoit and Elise, they are dedicated to restoring and reclaiming the reputation of forgotten varietals and terroir. These wines, such as the rare π₯πππ¦πππ‘π and ππππ§π¨π¦, are expressions of authenticity and individuality.
Benoit and Elise, self-proclaimed ampelographic archivists, meticulously search for and replant old grape varieties, striving to revive their true identity. Notably, they are the only winemakers producing wine from the obscure π₯πππ¦πππ‘π grape, which was only approved in 2018. Another noteworthy varietal is ππππ§π¨π¦, a grape grown in high altitude regions before being wiped out by phylloxera.
