Originally named the Conway River Yacht Club, the anglicized "Conway" naming convention has been integral to its identity since inception. Exclusively a membership club, the Conway Yacht Club warmly welcomes visitors, with provisions for those unfamiliar with members.
The club boasts a dynamic sailing program from April to October, highlighted by the annual Conwy River Festival and participation in the Menai Strait Regattas, organizing its own event annually from Beaumaris. In 2021, the club expanded its offerings by merging with Deganwy Rowers, now providing Celtic Longboat Rowing.
