Cooperativa Sociale Janas

Società Cooperativa Sociale Janas is a community-focused cooperative founded in January 2005 by five women with experience in elderly care, services for children, disability support, and training. Based in Tiana, in the province of Nuoro, Sardinia, it now has ten members and serves Tiana, Teti, Ovodda, Atzara, and Aritzo. The cooperative aims to support local wellbeing and employment through accessible, quality social services.

Its principal service is the Naèli Integrated Community, an elderly care residence in Tiana that has operated since 2005 and was requalified in 2023 to serve older people who are not self-sufficient. The facility also maintains connections with local associations, schools, and community groups. Janas provides personalized support plans under Law 162/98, territorial educational services in Tiana, Teti, and Atzara, and home assistance in Aritzo and Teti. It is accredited to manage Home Care Premium in the Sorgono social-health district. Its work has also included family and social mediation, listening services, and recreational and educational activities for children and adults.
