Cooperativa Sociale Pegaso

Cooperativa Sociale Pegaso is an Italian social cooperative founded in 1996 to provide services that place each person’s physical and psychological well-being, dignity, and rights at the center of its work. Operating in several municipalities in the province of Agrigento, it supports older people, people with disabilities, people experiencing mental health needs, children, young people, and families.

Pegaso manages four residential communities for people with mental disabilities in Palma di Montechiaro, Canicattì, and Naro, as well as an apartment-based service in Canicattì for adults with mild to moderate mental disabilities and good levels of independence. Its services also include home assistance, a play centre, and a public access point service. The cooperative provides a residential community for minors, intended to support social reintegration and, where appropriate, a return to family life or placement with a suitable foster family.

Since 2008, Pegaso has also organised professional training courses, including programmes for social care workers, Italian Sign Language operators, and glass and ceramic decoration.
