About G20 CORDAP
CORDAP (Coral Research & Development Accelerator Platform) is a global initiative launched in 2020 by 17 G20 nations to accelerate research and development in coral reef restoration and conservation. Its mission is to bring together the best minds worldwide in a transdisciplinary approach to secure a future for tropical coral reefs and cold-water corals. CORDAP's unique, time-sensitive approach supports and scales up existing initiatives while funding global research and development for coral restoration.
By collaborating with experts from various fields, including biology, engineering, and architecture, CORDAP aims to develop effective, scalable solutions that can be deployed on a broader scale. The platform is open to all, encourages open-source collaboration, and strives for efficiency by directing all funding toward research and development projects. CORDAP's goal is to reverse the projected losses of corals, enhance cooperation among G20 members, and support global initiatives for sustainable coral reef management, ecosystem restoration, and ocean science
