Cordoba Peace Institute – Geneva (CPI-Geneva) is an independent non-profit organisation based in Geneva and working for peace in societies where Muslims live. Since 2002, it has focused on reducing tensions and polarisation and strengthening practical and theoretical resources for conflict transformation, particularly in Muslim-majority countries. Its work spans the Middle East, North Africa, the Sahel and other regions.
CPI-Geneva advances peace through research, policy engagement, dialogue, mediation and capacity building. It works with communities, faith leaders, youth and policymakers to support inclusive, resilient societies and stronger social cohesion. Its activities address issues including sectarian divides, ideological tensions, the role of religious leaders in peacemaking, interfaith engagement, preventing extremism and violence, and humanitarian mediation.
The Institute also offers practical training for mediators, facilitators and community leaders. Courses cover conflict transformation, mediation and negotiation, process design, early warning and rapid response, and violence prevention. CPI-Geneva shares research papers, reports, books, analysis and a newsletter, helping inform public policy and support constructive action in contexts affected by conflict.
