Core Respite Services

CORE Respite Services is a Belfast-based social respite provider that has been operating since September 2009. It creates social opportunities for people with learning disabilities, offering activities tailored to individual needs and preferences. The service aims to help participants enjoy new experiences, build friendships and relationships, and spend time with new people and familiar friends. It also gives family members and carers time to unwind, with the reassurance that their relative is taking part in an activity they have chosen.

CORE works with families across Greater Belfast, including Dundonald, Lisburn, and North, South East and West Belfast. It also works with Social Services, social workers and the South Eastern Trust. The organisation offers two activity packages: a five-hour option and a full-day package of eight hours, with different days available. CORE can also assist people with the initial steps involved in applying for Direct Payments and provide guidance on Self-Directed Support, which may enable individuals to purchase services suited to their needs.
