Corinna Moebius

Corinna J. Moebius, Ph.D., is a writer, cultural anthropologist, and public historian whose work explores how history, memory, and power shape the places people call home. Drawing on more than thirty years of studying relationships with place, including research in Miami’s Little Havana, she examines belonging, displacement, ritual, public memory, and resistance. Her work connects cultural anthropology, geography, and public history, and considers how people create meaning in landscapes—and how those landscapes can include or exclude.

Moebius is co-author of A History of Little Havana and is writing Magic Cities: Little Havana and the Rituals of Power, a transnational history of Miami’s Little Havana and its connections to Havana and other cities. She also develops Little Havana research, resources, and walking tours, and is creating Core-Respondence, a practice using story, movement, and ritual to help people rethink relationships with home and place. Through writing, public speaking, workshops, classes, walking experiences, and counter-mapping, she shares tools for understanding place and exploring belonging, repair, and connection.
