Corita Art Center is dedicated to preserving the art, teaching, and social justice advocacy of Corita Kent, also known as Sister Mary Corita. As an artist, educator, and advocate for social justice, Corita had an innovative approach to design and education. The center, which is a project of the Immaculate Heart Community, aims to promote Corita Kent's work and inspire others through her powerful and thought-provoking art.

The center offers a range of exhibitions showcasing Corita's artwork, as well as educational programs based on her unique methods and techniques. It also oversees the rights to her images and sells prints and merchandise featuring her iconic designs. By facilitating hundreds of exhibitions since its inception in 1997, the Corita Art Center ensures that Corita's legacy continues to impact future generations.

Corita's artwork evolved throughout her career, incorporating figurative and religious imagery, advertising images and slogans, popular song lyrics, biblical verses, and literature. Her work became increasingly political in the 1960s, urging viewers to confront issues like poverty, racism, and social injustice. Even after leaving the religious order, she remained actively engaged in social causes until her death in 1986.
