About The Corn Islands Virtual Library
The Corn Islands Virtual Library is a non-profit community project dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage of the Corn Islands of Caribbean Nicaragua. Founded on August 19, 2021, and officially launched on May 1, 2023, the library is funded by STS Initiative, supporting culture, education, and youth welfare projects. Their goal is to meet academic needs and preserve the historical, cultural, visual, and audiovisual heritage of Great Corn Island and Little Corn Island.
The library curates information from local historians, conducts independent research, and collaborates with academics and cultural enthusiasts. With over ten years of research, archiving, and oral accounts, the online library project offers a wealth of knowledge to preserve the identity of the Corn Islands.
