Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Sendiass

Cornwall SENDIASS is the Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service for Cornwall. It provides free, confidential and impartial information, advice and support to children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities, as well as their parents and carers. The service aims to help people understand their options, build confidence and make informed decisions, while encouraging constructive relationships between families, education providers, the local authority and other agencies.

Its resources cover education, health and social care, including SEN support, Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), needs assessments, annual reviews, personal budgets and preparing for adulthood. Cornwall SENDIASS also offers information on resolving disagreements, tribunals, complaints, school exclusions, elective home education, bullying, transport and mental health in education. Dedicated sections and resources are available for young people, parents and carers, and practitioners, with additional guidance, news and a jargon buster. The service supports schools and other agencies in developing good SEND practices.
