Cororooke

Cororooke Open Space is a community initiative in Cororooke, Victoria, bringing together the Cororooke Tennis Club and the Red Rock District Progress Association to develop and support a shared local space. The two-hectare site was donated to the community by Fonterra after the former Cororooke Dairy Factory, which operated from 1901 until 2013, closed. The Open Space’s vision is being advanced through community activity and facilities, including the Cororooke Tennis Club’s four modern courts.

The club offers competitive tennis for senior and junior players, with five teams comprising A and B senior sides and junior teams. Weekly coaching is available for young players and adults seeking to improve their skills. The site also connects visitors with community destinations and initiatives, including Cororooke Hall, the Cororooke Market and the Cororooke History Trail. With support from the Colac Otway Shire, the Open Space has also acquired a defibrillator for public use, helping provide an important safety resource for the community.
