MedeJazz is the Festival Internacional Medellín de Jazz & Músicas del Mundo, a cultural festival dedicated to sharing jazz and music from around the world with audiences in Medellín. Marking 30 years of activity, the festival has developed into an established platform for live performance, musical discovery, and cultural exchange. Its program brings together international artists and Colombian musicians, with styles and sounds representing different countries and regions.
The festival’s featured performers include artists and groups from Cuba, Venezuela, the Netherlands, and Colombia, including the Orquesta Aragón, Andrés Hernández, Joseph Amado, Michael Varekamp & The Legends, and nine ensembles from Antioquia. In the described edition, MedeJazz offers eleven concerts, ten with free admission, as well as four free master classes. Events take place from September 5 to 19 at two Medellín venues: the Gran Salón at Plaza Mayor and the SURA stage at the Botanical Garden, with the latter presented alongside the city’s Book and Culture Festival.
