Corpus Nummorum Online is a dedicated web portal focusing on ancient coins from four historical regions: Moesia Inferior, Thrace, Mysia, and Troas. This pilot project aims to catalog ancient Greek coinage by region and mint, facilitating research and preservation efforts. The portal compiles a comprehensive research database based on material from around 104 mints in these regions, leveraging collections available at the Berlin Coin Cabinet and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences, including plaster casts of coins from various now-missing collections.

With a commitment to public science, the platform allows users to contribute by adding coins, enriching the database. Each coin is scientifically classified, enabling the assignment of necessary minting tools and the organization of coins into types, sometimes further categorized into subtypes or larger series. The portal features detailed descriptions in German and English, with ongoing integration of additional languages. Supported by significant academic institutions and funding projects, Corpus Nummorum Online is a vital resource for numismatic research and an evolving online catalog for historical coinage.
