Corpus Essonnien

Corpus Essonnien is an endeavor dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history and heritage of the Essonne department in France. This platform serves as a comprehensive digital repository, gradually compiling a vast array of documents, texts, bibliographic references, and historical images pertaining to the region. Focusing on the historical, social, and economic narratives of Essonne, it aims to provide easy access to scholarly work while encouraging collaborative contributions from historians and the public.

The initiative emphasizes republishing previously existing studies, particularly those that are in the public domain or have received appropriate permissions for online sharing. Currently in its experimental phase, Corpus Essonnien employs wiki technology to facilitate seamless teamwork in organizing and presenting historical content. Key areas of focus include the municipalities of Essonne, notable historians from the region, and the digitization of articles from the Bulletin of the Historical and Archaeological Society of Essonne, published in the 19th and 20th centuries. Participants interested in contributing are encouraged to reach out for collaboration.
