About Queensland Corrective Services
The Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) Victims Register is a vital support resource for individuals affected by violent and sexual crimes, including domestic and family violence. Designed to keep victims informed, the Victims Register provides essential details about adult offenders, ensuring that victims can be aware of significant events related to the offenders they have registered against. Eligible individuals include victims themselves, immediate family members, guardians, and witnesses who may face physical safety risks.
Once an offender's court matters and sentencing are finalized, victims can apply to join the register. They will receive confidential updates on the offender’s sentencing changes, release dates, and any circumstances that may impact their safety. The register allows victims or their nominated representatives to stay informed without the offender being aware of their registration. For those seeking clarity or assistance, QCS offers comprehensive guidance through multiple contact options, including a dedicated phone line and email support. This program underscores the commitment to providing ongoing support and information to those impacted by crime.
