Cosma

Cosma is a subsea technology and survey company focused on making the ocean transparent for infrastructure, security and biodiversity. It observes, maps and monitors the seabed, delivering open, neutral and affordable data at global scale. Its operations combine autonomous underwater drones with an AI-powered cloud platform. The drones collect optical and acoustic data a few metres above the seabed, surveying areas from nearshore sites to offshore locations at depths of up to 200 metres. Onshore, Cosma uses underwater computer vision, AI reconstruction and interpretation to turn raw observations into seabed maps and actionable intelligence.

Cosma offers survey and monitoring services, including Photographic Seabed Models: high-definition seabed imagery with centimetric positioning, created through photogrammetry. Clients can access maps, regulatory reports, environmental baseline studies, monitoring protocols, a collaborative interpretation platform, bio-annotation tools and analysis support. Applications include offshore wind, marine restoration and blue carbon, pipes and cables, infrastructure inspection, security and unexploded ordnance mapping, protected-area planning, biodiversity surveys, archaeological research and seabed investigations.
