Cosmic Captures

Cosmic Captures is an astrophotography education and inspiration brand created by Sweden-based astrophotographer Tim Ciasto. It helps people discover the night sky and learn to photograph it through practical guidance, clear explanations, planning tools, and real-world experience. Its resources are designed for a range of skill levels and equipment, from beginners and smart-telescope users to photographers with traditional deep-sky setups.

The brand offers monthly night-sky guides that highlight objects worth observing and capturing, with tips on timing, lunar conditions, and whether targets suit a person’s equipment and location. Its TonightPlan tool helps users plan deep-sky sessions, while its educational content explores subjects such as nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, the Moon, comets, and nightscapes. Cosmic Captures also guides newcomers through different approaches to astrophotography and features an ongoing exploration of the Messier Catalogue. Additional offerings include one-on-one guidance, collaborations, and a newsletter with practical advice, sky updates, and reflections from Ciasto’s own journey. Overall, Cosmic Captures aims to make astrophotography more accessible and help people capture the universe with confidence.
