This non-profit organization ensures the rights of both local and foreign individuals with an interest in music used in Nigeria are respected.

COSON offers membership to all owners of copyright or neighboring rights in musical works or sound recordings, attracting celebrated icons as well as emerging talents in Nigeria's evergreen music scene. In addition, foreign owners of copyright are welcome to join through affiliation.

COSON's main focus is to provide a huge repertoire of copyright-protected music for public performance, enabling bulk music users such as broadcasting stations, airlines, hotels, and nightclubs to obtain the necessary licenses easily and efficiently. By facilitating access to music and ensuring appropriate compensation for creators, COSON supports creativity and contributes to making the world a better place.
