CostGoat is a privacy-first desktop app for monitoring AI, cloud, API, and SaaS costs from one convenient dashboard in your computer’s menubar. Available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, it connects directly to more than 75 services to track spending, usage, remaining credits, AI agent quotas, and subscription renewals in real time.

The app helps individuals and teams avoid unexpected bills and service interruptions with custom budget alerts, desktop notifications, and email warnings when costs rise or credits run low. Users can also follow live quota countdowns for tools such as Claude Code and Codex, and access provider dashboards through one-click links for more detail.

CostGoat is designed to keep account information private: usage data stays on the user’s device, and API credentials are stored using the operating system’s secure storage. Setup takes a few minutes, requires no account, and begins with a seven-day free trial. Paid options include yearly plans for individuals and teams, as well as lifetime access. The company also offers a bundle with 1bench and SSH Workbench.
