About COTA
Clarke Oconee Tennis Association (COTA) is a volunteer-based community tennis association founded in 2000 and affiliated with the United States Tennis Association (USTA). A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it serves residents of Clarke, Oconee, Barrow, Morgan, Madison, Jackson, and Oglethorpe counties in Georgia. Membership is open to residents of these seven counties who have an active USTA membership, as well as parents of children with active memberships.
COTA works to promote and sustain interest in tennis while providing opportunities for junior, adult, and senior players to take part in league competition. Its programs include womenโs, menโs, and mixed leagues, with seasonal offerings for different age groups, including 18+, 40+, 55+, and 65+ play. The association also shares league rules, scheduling guidance, NTRP rating information, championship resources, and support for team captains and players. For younger participants and newcomers, its website includes junior tennis information and guidance on how to play or learn. Through team competition, COTA encourages sportsmanship, recreation, and social connection.
