About cotfcanada.org
The Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation (COTF) was established on May 17, 1983, with a vision to support the research and scholarship in the field of occupational therapy. Its first Board of Governors comprised esteemed Occupational Therapists, including Karen Goldenberg as President, Dr. Thelma Cardwell as Vice President, and Dr.
Isobel Robinson as Secretary/Treasurer. COTF aims to help Canadians resume daily living and regain their independence in various aspects of life, including home, work, school, and play. By generating, receiving, and maintaining funds, they develop mechanisms to grant awards for research and scholarships that have a positive impact on clients.
Having shared office space with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) in Toronto from 1983 to 1995, COTF joined forces with CAOT once again in 2002 to foster a synergistic relationship benefiting the entire occupational therapy community. Since 2015, COTF has been operating from its own premises in Ottawa while recognizing CAOT as its founding partner. Supporting COTF is easy, with options like attending events such as Lunch with a Scholar and participating in silent and live auctions, or by making donations to contribute to their cause.
Together, we can make a difference in the field of occupational therapy and enhance the lives of individuals across Canada
