Center of the Universe NIL (COTU NIL) is an independent, career-focused NIL collective based in Ashland, Virginia, supporting Randolph–Macon men’s basketball student-athletes. Rooted in the Yellow Jacket community, the organization uses name, image, and likeness opportunities to help athletes prepare for life beyond college sports. Its approach emphasizes culture, authentic partnerships, and personal development rather than recruiting or athletic performance.
COTU NIL’s programs center on four areas: brand ambassador mentoring, financial literacy education, career preparation and alumni networking, and community engagement. Student-athletes can build practical skills in budgeting, contracts, taxes, entrepreneurship, résumé writing, and interviewing while gaining experience through marketing activities and community events. The collective also connects athletes with partners who value their authentic voices and helps create NIL opportunities.
Supporters can join through monthly membership tiers, while businesses can partner at Bronze, Silver, or Gold levels to develop marketing activations with brand ambassadors. COTU NIL also shares athlete features, event updates, partnership news, and program information through its website and weekly newsletter.
