Coucou is a French bistro brand bringing the spirit of France’s timeless bars and bistros to Venice, West Hollywood, and Manhattan Beach, California. Its approach combines traditional French fare with Coastal California produce, with dishes prepared over a live-fire grill. The menu, created by chef Jacob Wetherington, a Bouchon alumnus, features updated bistro favorites such as steak frites, mussels marinière, shucked oysters, fried olives, and a distinctive burger that blends French and Californian influences. Guests can also enjoy the restaurant’s celebrated ice cream sundae.

A focus on aperitif culture and artisanal cocktails shapes Coucou’s drinks program, which includes classic cocktails, ice-cold Martinis, California and French wines, and a considered selection of French aperitifs. The three locations pair elevated French favorites with convivial, elegant dining spaces. Coucou also offers private events, gift cards, and a club for news, special menus, and occasions. The restaurants operate as no-tipping establishments, adding a 20% surcharge to bills to support employees’ living wages.
