Emma Marshall

Counselling with Em is the practice of Em, a person-centred counsellor and clinical supervisor based in Bacup, Lancashire. Em provides confidential individual counselling for adults and young people aged 11 and over throughout the UK, with sessions available face to face, online or by telephone. She also offers clinical supervision, in person and online, to qualified counsellors and counsellors in training.

The practice offers a welcoming, supportive space where clients can explore challenges at a pace that feels comfortable and work towards moving forward. Em’s approach places the client at the centre of the counselling process and values a warm, trusting relationship built on respect, understanding and patience. Her lived experience of receiving an ADHD diagnosis later in life informs her understanding of neurodiversity and different ways of thinking and processing.

Areas she supports include anxiety, depression and low mood, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss and life changes, confidence and self-esteem, bullying, family breakdown, self-harming behaviours, stress, burnout, work issues and parenting.
