Couparie

Écurie Équi-Libre Couparie is a horse boarding and breeding farm in Courcemont, Sarthe, about 25 minutes from Le Mans. Run by Hervé and Sophie Dugué, the equestrian business has welcomed owners’ horses, broodmares and young horses since 2014, building on the couple’s experience in horse breeding and training. Its main offering is active-stable boarding, where horses live in groups, move freely and receive regular, individually adapted feeding.

Other options include box boarding with daily paddock turnout, breeding and retirement care, and boarding with a structured work programme. Facilities include an arena, riding areas, paddocks, pastures and foaling boxes monitored around the clock. The team also provides foaling support, young-horse education and starting, with veterinary follow-up for mares and foals.

The Couparie breeding programme selects for temperament, athletic ability and quality of movement. The farm operates organically, growing forage on site when harvests allow, and promotes biodiversity through diverse hedgerows and tree planting.
