About Coalition on Violence Against Women
COVAW (Coalition on Violence Against Women) is a renowned national non-profit organization dedicated to women's rights in Kenya. Established in 1995, COVAW emerged in response to the lack of attention given by the Kenyan society towards Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). The organization aims to break the silence and address this pressing issue.
COVAW focuses on multiple strategic areas to achieve its mission. First, they provide comprehensive and integrated responses to tackle Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) concerns. They also strive for women's economic empowerment, aiming to create equal access and control over economic resources for women and girls.
Moreover, COVAW seeks to enhance women's leadership development, encouraging their involvement in leadership processes across sectors and levels. Additionally, COVAW aims to increase access to appropriate legal redress for victims and survivors of VAWG through its focus on access to justice. Finally, the organization is committed to its institutional development, ensuring it remains a dynamic, effective, relevant, and resilient institution.
With its dedicated team and extensive experience, COVAW continues to champion the rights of women and girls, providing crucial support and advocacy. You can join their mission to end violence by donating and working with them
